CHURCH and national leaders are praying for peace, unity, and progress for the country this coming year. Yes to unity, peace, and progress! Brighter hopes for Pinoys, too!

*** Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle said he is praying for Filipinos to become more united.

In union there is strength, as the saying goes. *** “Muslim, Christians, those from other religion, rich or poor...let us be united and do good deeds for one another..that is what Christ wants,” Tagle told his Radyo Veritas audience.

Yes to unity and good actions without religious barrier. *** The National Council of Churches in the Philippines said it is praying for peace. Yes, peace be with us, brothers!

*** “Let us pray and strive that our unhappy divisions may cease,” Rev. Rex Reyes, NCCP general secretary, said in a message.

No more divisions as a people. No more division of the loot. *** Reyes also reminded everyone to thank God for His continuing providence and grace and to likewise share what they have so that others may experience the joy of God’s beneficence.

Yes to attitude of gratitude. Thank God and share your blessings.

*** Bishop Noel Pantoja of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) expressed hope that people would return to God.

Yes to Godliness.

*** “As we daily face the threats of terrorism, conflicts, political uncertainties, various calamities and economic problems, let us see the light and put our hope in God,” he said.

Yes to the light of God. And no more additional headaches, please.

*** Likewise, President Duterte airs his best wishes for Filipinos and the country this year.

A peaceful and better life for Pinoys, he says. *** Cabinet men also vow to give their best this year and stay honest, as wished by the President.

Yes to better performance in office. Or time to pack up and go.

*** Malacañang vows to lower the country’s poverty level and push economic progress.

Yes, time for us to level up – and taste prosperity.
