Pascua named new Sta. Lucia coach
Sta. Lucia Realty joined the list of teams in the coaching carousel after it tapped the coaching services of George Pascua in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix conference in February next year.
The announcement was made yesterday by the team’s official Twitter account, @LadyRealtors, saying: “As we transition into our team’s sophomore year, we would like to officially welcome to the Sta. Lucia family our new head coach, George Pascua!”
Pascua will be vacating the coaching post of Cignal HD Spikers and will fill in the shoes of Jerry Yee with the Lady Realtors.
Sta. Lucia, one of the youngest teams in the Philippine Superliga, struggled in its maiden year after finishing sixth place over the last three conferences.
They paraded a strong lineup in the recent Grand Prix conference with the presence of foreign reinforcements Marisa Field, Bohdana Anisova and MJ Phillips, only to get hampered with injuries.
Other teams have also been beefing up their respective coaching rosters with Serbian mentor Moro Branislav leaving Foton and ending up as the new mentor for Cocolife, and Foton getting Rommel Abella as new tactician.
The Cocolife Asset Managers are also reinforcing their lineup by getting imports Taylor Milton and Sara Klisura for the upcoming Grand Prix Conference.
Cocolife aims to eclipse its fourthplace finish after losing to Foton in the bronze medal match, while Foton seeks to regain lost glory after failing its three-peat bid.
