What is Vice President Leni Robredo’s wish for the New Year? Peace and fewer calamities for the Philippines.

“For me, its not only one.But first, peace for our country. Second, I hope there will be less calamities,” she said.

Robredo acknowledged that 2017 did not end well for Filipinos and prays for zero violence and killings in the country.

“So my wish is that we avoid fighting, killings, and we unite as Filipinos,” the Vice-President added.

Robredo welcomed the New Year with her three daughters – Aika, Tricia, and Jillian.

“Christmas and New Year have always been spent with

Jesse’s siblings and their families. This year was an exception,” she said in her Facebook post.

“The year 2017 wasn’t good as far as unity is concerned. Filipinos were too polarized in the past year, I hope this will change in 2018, because the key to progress of a country is national unity,” Robredo stressed.

The Vice President noted the past year didn’t end well for Filipinos because of the disasters that struck different parts of country that resulted in the death of many Filipinos.

“We have been working for a long time for zero casualties on calamities, but the question now is, why there were many people who died? I think it’s time to reassess what we’ve been doing wrong,” she added.
