CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - Nueva Ecija Governor Czarina Umali raised the reward money to R1.2 million for infiormation that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the people behind the killing of her secretary.

Talavera Mayor Nerivi Martinez earlier offered a reward of R200, 000 for pertinent information on the killers of Mary Anne Hernandez.

Hernandez, 38, was the executive secretary of Governor Umali.

She was shot and killed last January 14 inside the family vehicle in a gasoline station in Barangay Pag-asa, Talavera.

She was with her husband and two children.

Hernandez died from multiple gunshot wounds, while her husband was wounded. The children were not harmed. Umali said she is awaiting the result of the investigation and expressed hope that the perpetrators of the crime would soon be brought to justice.

Central Luzon regional police director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus had ordered a thorough investigation on the incident and also created special investigation task group ‘Hernandez’.

“We will exert all our efforts and look into the bottom of this,’’ Corpus stressed.

He also urged the public to support their call to help maintain peace and order and safety and security of the communities.
