IMUS, Cavite — The new stateof-the-art “Ospital ng Imus,” the first public hospital in this capital district, is set to open within five months to render treatment, health care and medical services to thousands of residents in the area.

The construction of the 120-million hospital, in an open field on Pedro Reyes Street in Barangay Malagasang I-G, is almost complete. It is deemed as the most modern public hospital in Cavite province.

The Manila Bulletin was given the first opportunity to view the hospital that Third District Representative Alex L. Advincula, Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, Vice Mayor Arnel M. Catimbuhan and some city council members and department heads inspected last Wednesday morning.

The hospital construction is one of biggest projects of the local government in years. It is built alongside the new three Imus National Senior High School buildings and a multi-purpose sports oval in a three-hectare lot that Advincula donated to the city government.

The congressman and Maliksi have initiated the construction of the hospital building in March, 2015. The officials said that the hospital is intended for the indigents, senior citizens, and other residents in need of medical attention.

City Health Officer Ronaldo Calingasan said that the three-story hospital, with 4,000 square meter floor area, have 38 charity wards and 10 private rooms with 120 beds, five doctor rooms and a number of medical service and personnel rooms. All rooms and offices in the hospital will be air-conditioned, he said.

At least 11 doctors, 24 nurses and 12 consultants, including specialists will be available for the day-to-day services, Calingasan said.

The facilities and equipment will be provided by the Department of Health and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. The DOH has allocated 125-million fund while PCSO 110 million.
