PAL is now part of US TSA pre-check program

-

Philippine Airlines (PAL) passengers flying out of the United States can now enjoy a quick, convenient, hassle – free screening procedure after the flag-carrier has become part of the Transportation Security Administration's TSA Pre-Check program.

Eligible travelers departing on PAL flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York JFK, Honolulu and Guam starting February 2, 2018, will essentially be spared from the inconvenience of having to remove their shoes, light jackets, and belts.

Liquids and laptops may remain in carry-on bags at TSA PreP® checkpoints. Children 12 years and younger may accompany an adult who has TSA Pre-Check.

US citizens, US lawful permanent residents and citizens of certain other countries are eligible to join the trusted traveler programs of the US Department of Homeland Security.

For TSA Pre-Check screening, TSA accepts some members of NEXUS and SENTRI, and all members of Global Entry and the TSA Pre-Check application program.

Once approved in a program, travelers receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) to enter in reservations when booking flights on Philippine Airlines. Travelers may refer to DHS. gov for more details, and to choose the DHS Trusted Traveler Program that is right for their particular cases.

With a valid Known Traveler Number in a reservation, the TSA Pre-Check indicator should appear on a boarding pass when checking in for a flight.

At US airport checkpoints, passengers should look for the TSA Pre-Check entrance. If there is no TSA Pre-Check lane in operation, passengers should follow TSA officer instructions to ensure the quickest, easiest screening possible.

“A s t h e a i r l i n e o p e r a t i n g t h e greatest number of routes and flights from the US to the Philippines, PAL is always looking for ways to make the travel experience more comfortable for our valued customers," announced President & COO Jaime J. Bautista.

The Pre-Check program enables eligible flyers to go through screening lanes with ease and speed, just as it enhances the security check procedure out of the United States, he stressed. (EVA)
