Davao City police official tops Napolcom exams
A police officer assigned in Davao City topped both the written and validation interview for the 2017 Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) given by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) for the third level ranks in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Supt. Warren E. Dablo, a registered nurse was among the 100 senior police officials who hurdled the examination.
He is the Assistant Regional Chief, Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 11, Davao City.
Aside from being a registered nurse, Dablo also has a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and was a recipient of numerous awards and commendations in his 15 years in the police service.
Napolcom Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Rogelio T. Casurao announced that the 11th PESE Conferment Rites on February 9 will be held at the Jesse M. Robredo Hall, Department of the Interior and Local Governments (DILG)-NAPOLCOM Center in Quezon City, with DILG Undersecretary and Officer-in-Charge Eduardo M. Año as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
Other PNP officials who made it to the top five were Supt. Julius C. Suriben, assigned at the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit, Directorate for Personnel and Records Management, PNP NHQ (Top 2); Chief Insp. Benjamin D. Balais, Administrative Officer, Office of the Director, Intelligence Group, PRO 4A (Top 3); Chief Insp. Grace J. De Castro, Action Officer, Police Community Relations Branch (PCRB), Davao del Sur Provincial Police Office (PPO) (Top 4); and Chief Insp. Janette P. Rafter, Acting Chief, PCRB, Cebu PPO (Top 5).
“The 100 passers represent 19.88 percent of the 503 police officials who underwent the validation interview on December 16-17, 2017. This is the lowest passing percentage rate since the Napolcom started administering the PESE examination in 2006,” Casurao said.
The conferment rites will be attended by the 50 Police Superintendents and 50 Police Chief Inspectors who hurdled the examination.
The PESE which has two phases, the written exam and the panel interview, is an eligibility requirement for the ranks of Police Senior Superintendent, Police Chief Superintendent, Police Director, Police Deputy Director General and Police Director General.
The PESE tests contain analytical questions on police leadership and police values designed to select the best future leaders in the police service.
