Constructi­on worker stabbed by neighbors

Aconstruct­ion worker is now in critical condition after three people mauled and stabbed him yesterday in Pasay City. The cause, one of the attackers just got irked with the victim’s remarks.

For that, Joemari Tamayo, a resident of Electrical Road Barangay 191, Zone 20 in Pasay, is now recuperati­ng at the Pasay City General Hospital for stab wounds in the head, face and body, case investigat­or PO3 Alberto Barangas Jr. said.

Tamayo was allegedly attacked by his neighbors Danilo Beronibla, 58, his wife Siony Beronibla, 54, and Carlo Laila 19.

Initial investigat­ion revealed that the incident occurred at around 12:15 a.m. yesterday in front of the residence of Beroniblas. The suspects were reportedly talking to each other when Tamayo, who was allegedly drunk, passed by.

Barangas said that Tamayo uttered unsavory words towards Danilo, which infuriated the latter’s wife. Siony then confronted Tamayo which escalated to a brawl.

Danilo and Laila took turns in stabbing the victim, police said.

As the victim fell on the floor, the three attempted to escape but were arrested by members of the Police Community Precinct (PCP)-9 of Pasay City.

A case of frustrated homicide is being readied against the three suspects, police said.
