Zero crime, illegal drugs in Licab, Nueva Ecija

- By MAR T SUPNAD

LICAB , Nueva Ecija – This fourthclass municipality stands head and shoulders above all other local government units in the country in terms of peace and order after it reported zero crime and illegal drugs cases in the past two months.

Central Luzon regional police director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, impressed with the town’s zero crime rate, challenged other town and police chiefs in the region to draw inspiration from Licab’s example.

Corpus commended Licab police chief Sr. Insp. Romualdo Lopez’s strong leadership through the ‘Enhanced Managing Police Operations.’ Corpus added that the sterling peace and order record in Licab can likewise be attributed to the collaboration between the local government, the police and the community.

“The key to safe and secured communities is when a real partnership exists among the local government, the police and the people. This is what the town of Licab has and I hope that Licab will sustain its being crime drug- free. I encourage everyone to set the municipality of Licab as an example. Let us strive harder by working together so that every town in Central Luzon will be crime and free of illegal drugs,” Corpus said.

Lopez said the Licab police force has been conducting police intervention activities through community policing as well as maximum police presence through beat patrols, checkpoints and mobile patrols.

In the muncipality of Llanera, police chief Sr. Insp. Romeo Yutuc, said the campaign against loose firearms has been stepped up, resulting in the confiscation of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and the arresty of several individuals.
