End times salvation of Israel
(Part I)
RECENTLY, Fernando T. Tobias, a resident of 3750 Sto. Angel Sur, Sta. Cruz, Laguna, wrote me:“Dear Atty. Villafuerte “I write to you to ask help in these two matters:
“1) Why do the inhabitants of Africa have black complexion, those in Europe and North America have white complexion, those in Asia have whitish complexion?
“2) How did it happen that the shape of the eyes of these Asians – Chines, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, Mongols – have the pattern/form/contours that we see today?
“I will be very grateful for your astute analyses.” Very truly yours, Fernando T. Tobias I have been writing articles in this column for almost 32 years (I started last May 5, 1986) now and this is the first time I received a letter of this kind. Frankly, I am truly amused.
*** As far as I can recall, there is no Biblical verse that describes our particular looks and complexion. But God, the creator of the universe, the creator of the planets and the creator of our human bodies, is a God of diversity who can design our looks in a million different ways. Also, design does not happen by chance. The shape of our eyes and the color of our skin are designed by the best designer in the world. And more, the best designer in the world happens to be the God of the impossible. One may ask: Why did God create men and women with different skin colors and shape of eyes? Because God loves diversity. Look at the beautiful, colorful myriad of fishes, animals, flowers and plants He created and designed all around us. Wonders of nature that cannot be matched or imitated.
*** Surprisingly, Fernando Tobias who raised the aforementioned queries did not mention God at all in his letter. Was this through oversight? Or is it because Fernando Tobias does not believe in the existence of God? Atheists are looking for evidences of the existence of God when there are all kinds of evidences all around us, one of the greatest being the incredible design our universe, our planets, and our bodies.
*** God’s existence is recorded in the first verse of the Holy Bible which says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) The Bible begins with a positive statement that God exists. There are really two options open on the existence of God. Either God does exist or God does not exist. A science-oriented man cannot prove the existence of God by the use of microscopes and test tubes. A Christian who has had a personal encounter with God can say: “I experienced God in my life.”
*** The delicate balance that exists among the various parts of the universe and the infinite details in all the parts of our physical world point to the existence of a Supreme Being. How for example, did it happen that the sun has just the correct distance from the earth to sustain human life (93,000,000 miles)? *** Scientists estimate that the heat of the sun on its surface is approximately 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, astronomers say that the sun is 400,000 times as bright as the full moon and the former provides heat to the earth 6 million times as much as all the distant stars put together. If the sun were twice as hot, people would burn up and if it were only half as hot, people would freeze up. Did it then just happen by chance that earth and man are so perfectly matched?
*** Again, how come the speed of the rotating earth is just perfect for the survival of human life? The earth revolves at a speed of about 1,000 miles per hour; it has a diameter of 8,000 miles; its full circumference is about 25,000 miles; and rotates on its axis in 24 hours. In the average, there are 12 hours for day and 12 hours for night. Supposing the earth would revolve at half its present rate, that is 500 miles per hour instead of 1,000 miles? This would mean it would take 48 hours for the earth to make one complete revolution and daytime would last 24 hours. Can you imagine the heat build-up in 24 hours instead of 12? (To be continued)
