Paved roads boost farm productivity

CATARMAN, Northern Samar –The town of San Roque expects rice production to improve as new concrete roads link remote and farming barangays to markets.

San Roque Mayor Don L.Abalon told Manila Bulletin that seven barangays are now accessible to all types of vehicles after the road network was paved with the help of Northern Samar Governor Jose L. Ong Jr. and Northern Samar 2nd District Rep. Edwin C. Ong.

Abalon said the concrete roads in Barangays Balnasan, Balud, Coroconog have been completed, and the road to Malobago, Pagsangan, enroute to Barangay Lawaan and Ginagdanan is under construction.

Abalon said he will push for agricultural productivity by introducing the use of modern machinery in palay farming to replace traditional practices.
