B to modernize Bohol regional hospital
TAGBILARAN CITY — The Bohol government has approved a 12.2-billion budget to fully modernize the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in this city.
The budget’s approval came after the signing of the Multi-Year Obligational Authority (MYOA) for the hospital.
In a statement, Bohol Gov. Edgar M. Chatto thanked the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Health (DOH) and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for approving the budget.
Secretary Benjamin Diokno of the Department of Budget signed the MYOA following the strong endorsements from Health Secretary Francisco Doque and NEDA Secretary Ernesto Pernia.
The main hospital will continue to operate with its new P500 million building, which is already being built, while the major extension for specialized services will rise on a provincial property in Cortes.
The MYOA is a document issued by the DBM either for locally-funded or foreign-assisted projects implemented by agencies (in this case DOH) in order to authorize the latter to enter into contracts.
