NPA weapons seized in ComVal

CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City – Several war materials from the New People’s Army (NPA) in Compostela Valley Province were seized after a series of military operations, the Army said on Monday. Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, chief of the Public Affairs Office of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division said the military recovered an Ultimax 100 Mark Caliber 5.56mm light machine gun, an M-16 rifle, an M203 grenade launcher in operations conducted in Barangay Manurigao and Barangay Pagsabangan in New Bataan town last week. Lamosao claimed that the series of military operations has led to the downfall of the NPA’s Guerilla Front 25 operating in the province. He said more NPA fighters, supporters and sympathizers are expected to surrender to avail of the government’s peace and development program. (Mike U. Crismundo)
