- By JOSEPH JUBELAG

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A policeman included in President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s narco-list was gunned down here Tuesday.

Police said PO1 Glen Alicarte was about to board his car after taking lunch in a restaurant along Bula-Lagao road here when a lone gunman shot him several times with a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim succumbed to multiple shots in the head.

Alicarte, who was formerly assigned with the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, was among the policemen named by President Duterte of being involved in the illegal drug trade.

He was relieved from his post and reassigned to Camp Crame last September 2016, and arrived here Monday to attend a court hearing.

An hour after the killing of Alicarte, gunmen, riding in a motorcycle, shot dead a local businessman in Barangay Lagao.

Police identified the victim as Deeleon Bansua, 44, who manages a gravel and sand business in Barangay San Isidro, this city.

The victim was shot by the suspects while inside his vehicle which was parked outside a restaurant in Barangay San Isidro.

City Councilor Franklin Gacal, chair of the peace and order committee, assailed local police officials who he has accused of being remiss in their jobs to arrest the rash of shooting incidents in the city which had posted at least 11 cases since January this year.
