CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The youth of Bulacan will not be having a dull summer while school is out as the provincial government opens its Summer Sports Clinic in April.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encouraged parents to enroll their children in the various sports programs being offered as he underscored the importance of such training in shaping the youth and developing their potentials.

Alvarado said instructors from the Bulacan Sports Council Federation, Inc. (BSCFI) have been tapped to give lessons in swimming, athletics, arnis, aikido, badminton, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, taekwondo, chess, lawn tennis, gymnastics, football, futsal and dance sports.

The Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO) has worked out the schedules of the sports clinic from April 3 to May 12.

PYSPESO Head Elizabeth Alonzo said each sport has a set of requirements in terms of age, schedules and batches, venues and registration fees.

All the sports activities will be held at the Bulacan Sports Complex except for badminton lesson which will be held at Red Oil Badminton Court in Barangay Tikay.

Swimming lessons, on the other hand, will be set at the Bulacan Sports Complex Olympic-size swimming pool and no longer in private pools.

“It’s good to introduce sports to the youth at an early age and through this sports clinic, it’s possible to discover our new champions in the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association meet, State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association or even the National Games (Palarong Pambansa),” the governor said in Filipino.

For the complete schedule of the Summer Sports Clinic, contact the PYSPESO at (044) 305-3536/(044) 7919252/ 0997-337-1877 (Globe) or visit at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Barangay Sta. Isabel in this city.
