Central Luzon crime rate down 36 percent – PNP

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The crime rate in Central Luzon dropped by 36 percent amid the intensified war on drugs region-wide, the regional police forced reported yesterday.

Police Regional Office 3 Director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus announced that 1,342 cases of murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, motorcycle theft and rape were reported and recorded from January 1 to March 18, 2018, down by 36.19 percent from 2,103 cases in recorded in the same period last year.

In Bataan, Sr. Supt. Marcelo Dayag also reported that the crime volume in the province has also dropped by 48% percent due to intensified police visibility and anti crime campaign launched by his command.

Crime clearance efficiency (CCE) increased by 70.86 percent while crime solution efficiency (CSE) increased by 48.36 percent.

The provincial police office with the highest percentage decrease of crime incidents are: Bataan PPO (48.21%), Nueva Ecija PPO (43.31%), Olongapo CPO (42.19%), Angeles CPO (39.90%), Pampanga PPO (37.02%), Tarlac PPO (35.93%), Bulacan PPO (30.57%) and Zambales PPO (22.22%).

“This significant decrease in focus and prevalent crimes can be attributed to the intensification of our anticriminality measures particularly on motorcycle riding suspects and our resumed anti-drug campaign and the community's support and involvement in our crime prevention and control efforts," Corpus pointed out.
