President Duterte is motivated to work double time to ensure a safe and prosperous nation after retaining a “very good” net public satisfaction rating in the latest survey, Malacañang said Thursday.

“We are pleased with the latest Social Weath-

er Stations (SWS) 0survey showing President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte a ‘very good’ net satisfaction rating of +56,”Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.

The nationwide survey conducted from March 23 to 27 with 1,200 respondents found 70 percent of Filipinos satisfied, 17 percent undecided, and 14 percent dissatisfied with President Duterte’s performance in the first three months of 2018.

Compared to the December, 2017 survey, SWS said gross satisfaction with the President fell by one point from 71 percent, gross undecided rose by two points from 15 percent, and gross dissatisfaction rose by one point from 13 percent.

The latest rating gives a net satisfaction of +56 (percentage of satisfied minus percentage of dissatisfied), classified by SWS as “very good.”

But this is two points below the very good +58 (78 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfied) he got in December, 2017.

SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings are translated as follows: +70 and above as “excellent”; +50 to +69 “very good”; +30 to +49 “good”; +10 to +29 “moderate”; +9 to –9 “neutral”; -10 to –29 “poor”; -30 to –49 “bad”; -50 to –69 “very bad”; and -70 and below “execrable.”

Roque said they are grateful for the people’s “vote of confidence” in the President.

“This would further inspire the President, along with the members of his Cabinet, to work double time in bringing the fruits of sustained and inclusive growth to the poorest and marginalized sectors while ensuring our communities remain safe and secure from drugs, crime and terrorism,” he added.

SWS attributed the twopoint decline in President Duterte’s net satisfaction rating from December, 2017 to March 2018 to declines of 11 points in rest of Luzon and one point in Metro Manila, combined with increases of 12 points in Visayas and two points in Mindanao.
