Cavite folks look forward to extension of Cavitex

-

Cavite residents are looking forward to the proposed extension of the Cavite Expressway to ease the still congested Cavite traffic.

The Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) has proposed a 14kilometer Cavitex extension of the Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) for its segment 5 project for R22.5 billion.

A subsidy of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) of MVP Group of companies, the CIC is set to propose to the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) the Segment 5 toll project from Marulas, Kawit to Rosario town.

According to Noveleta Mayor Dino Reyes Chua, the proposed expansion will traverse through Noveleta within this year after passing the feasibility study for the project.

Segment 5 of Cavitex would include a 9.5-kilometer toll road that will connect Kawit to Noveleta and up to Rosario in Cavite.

It has an estimated cost of billion.

Chua expressed optimism the proposed expressway will surely boost the economy of his municipality and other neighboring towns and cities.

It will ease the traffic congestion from Noveleta to Cavite City and ease the transport and logistics operations of trucking firms serving the Cavite economic zones and other businesses of the province.

People of this coastal town and nearby Rosario and City of Cavite were also glad to hear of this project, Chua said.

Once completed, the new expressway will provide seamless connection to Cavite-Laguna Expressway.

For now, Cavitex has been improving their roads by extending their lanes both north and south bound lanes and, the ongoing flyover project for a continuous flow of traffic coming from the South going to Pacific Drive; and road surface improvements along R-1 to Macapagal Boulevard in Parañaque City.
