19,000 jobs available on Labor Day in Butuan City

BUTUAN CITY – About 18, 641 overseas job openings are available to job seekers during the job and business fair here next week to mark Labor Day on May 1.

The regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) here also said about 12 overseas recruitmen­t agencies and private companies are positioned to attend to the applicants during the job and business fair, in celebratio­n of the 116th Labor Day of the DOLE to be held at the Oazis Hotel and Convention Center on JC Aquino Avenue on May 1, 2018.

The DOLE also announced that about 277 jobs are also available for local employment with seven local companies participat­ing.

The highlights of the said event include the “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” (TNK) fair in coordinati­on with the Department of Trade and Industry, as well as the DOLE-attached agencies such as the NLRC, NCMB, OWWA, POEA, ECC (Employees Compensati­on Commission), Profession­al Regulation­s Commission, Occupation­al Safety and Health Center and the National Reintegrat­ion Center for OFWs.

Services offered by the aforementi­oned agencies will be readily available to workers and the public. These include employment and business counseling, processing of documents and selected services.

A One-Stop Service Center for the jobseekers is also available in the same venue in coordinati­on with the different agencies such as SSS, HDMF, PHIC, NBI and PSA. Orientatio­n briefing for those who want to avail of DOLE services such as livelihood assistance will also be held. A Skills Demonstrat­ion as well as “Larong Pinoy” for the informal sector and ITCs will also be offered.

The celebratio­n which will be spearheade­d by DOLE 13 Regional Director Chona Mantilla, will start with a mass to be held at the St. Joseph Cathedral, to be followed by a motorcade onward to the job and business fair/TNK at the Oazis Hotel.
