Beach Clean Up Drive in Boracay

-

Boracay boasts of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world that tourists flock to every year. However, because of the pressing issues it is facing today, conducting cleanup drives has now become fundamental for the island to fully maintain its environmental sustainability. This is why the government has teamed up with local groups, and came up with “Save Boracay!,” a campaign targeted to save, protect, and preserve the natural assets of the island.

On its fourth anniversary of the operation on the island, Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. (SCPA) Boracay has taken the initiative of joining the said campaign by conducting its very own Beach Clean Up Drive. 12 volunteers including 9 SCPA personnel, 1 merchandiser, 1 on-call housekeeping and 1 intern joined the project.

In collaboration with Agape Boracay Academy Inc. and Church on the Rock, both headed by Mrs. Teresa Atienza, SCPA conducted its very first cleanup drive in Bolabog Back Beach last March 24, 2018 from 6am to 9am. Alongside this, SCPA also conducted a feeding program that aided children and families with delicious and nutritious meals.

This project ensures proper solid waste management for the safeguarding of both the environment and public health in Boracay. For four years, SCPA has shown great love to the environment and the community.

Through the Beach Clean Up Drive, SCPA increases cooperation and public support in improving the island’s surroundings in terms of cleanliness and sanitation – constantly adhering to its advocacy of being The Hygienic Choice.
