Mothers and daughters bond over sweet treats at Gourdo’s
In partnership with The Podium, Gourdo’s hosts “A Special Date with Mom,” Chef Michelle San Miguel’s introduction to making sweets with your kids. The workstations had the children’s safety in mind and are equipped with kiddie kitchenware and aprons to match, putting the moms at ease. The early Mother’s Day bonding is filled with sugary delicacies, teaching participants how to decorate their cupcakes, make homemade marshmallows, and whip up chocolate fondue.
As the kids get their hands messy and their feet wet with experience, parents also gain insights during the workshop. Mommy Joan Lavadia shares, “What I like most about the workshop is that I get the chance to learn something new with my daughter Cadee. The activities help develop the kid’s sense of independence because they want to do it with less assistance.”
By the end of the workshop, the mom-and-daughter duos took home not only their delectable creations, but also meaningful lessons and memories to cherish. On getting to spend time with her daughter, Mommy Evalyn Atayde says that “making time is always the best gift you can give to your child, and I saw that Solana really enjoyed the time we spent at the workshop today.”
The next Gourdo’s “Mom and Me, Dad and Me” workshop will also be at The Podium on May 26, teaching moms and dads the basics of baking muffins and brownies. To sign-up for their workshops, visit instagram. com/gourdos.
