Teenaged rob suspect shot dead in Caloocan

A lady doctor and dean of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) was stabbed to death inside her bedroom in Las Piñas City early yesterday morning.

Senior Supt. Marion Balonglong, Las Piñas City police chief, identified the victim as Dr. Harivelle Charmaine Hernando,62, a dean of the School of Medicine of UPSHD and a resident of Dona Manuela Subdivisio­n, Pamplona 3, Las Piñas City.

Balonglong said that Hernando sustained multiple fatal stab wounds to the body.

CHICAGO – When a woman enters midlife, she would feel less stressed and enjoy a high quality of life during this period, a US study showed.

A recent study of the University of Michigan found that perceived stress – a measure of confidence, control and ability to cope with life's stressors – did indeed decrease for most women over a 15-year span.

The results came from data collected from more than 3,000 women who were recruited between the ages of 42-53 for the Study of Women's Health Across the Nation.

The study also found that menopausal status wasn't a factor, which challenges the notion that menopause is associated with higher Jovy Asero, went to the police station and reported that she heard her employer shouting and calling for help inside her room at around 2:30 a.m.

When the responding police team arrived to the house of the doctor, they discovered that her bedroom door was locked.

They forcibly entered the room and saw Hernando in pool of blood on her bed.

Balonglong said that Asero is now under their custody and is considered as a person of interest in the gruesome killing.

Furthermor­e, he said that they are also looking into the possibilit­y that Hernando’s former driver was behind the killing after he was recently fired. stress and depression.

Women with less education and increased financial hardship consistent­ly reported higher levels of stress compared to their peers, but this difference diminished over time.

"The results suggested that even women with less education or more financial hardship reported less perceived stress over the midlife," Elizabeth Hedgeman, one of the researcher­s, said. "And then there's menopause."

A teenager who was an alleged notorious robber was gunned down by the police reportedly resisting arrest in Caloocan City Wednesday night.

Case investigat­or PO1 Ariel Dela Cruz identified the fatality as Ricky Vherghel Quesada, 19.

Investigat­ion showed that at around 11 p.m., Quesada and his brother, identified only as Arnel, robbed two minors at gunpoint along Macabalo Street in Barangay 37, Caloocan.

The duo reportedly took P250 from the minors. Before fleeing, police said the Quesada brothers pistol-whipped the minors.

The minors then sought help from elements from Police Community Precinct (PCP) 2 who responded to the area where they spotted the suspects, who fled, eventually triggerrin­g a brief gun battle.

Quesada died on the spot while his brother escaped.

Recovered from the scene of the encounter were a loaded .38 caliber pistol and spent shells.
