Games Today (The Arena, San Juan City) 10 a.m. – PLDT vs Army (Men’s) 2 p.m. – PetroGazz vs Iriga-Navy (Women’s) 4 p.m. – BanKo-Perlas vs PayMaya (Women’s)

PayMaya tries to disentangle from the crowded top spot when it squares off with skidding BanKo-Perlas today in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

The PayMaya High Flyers aim for their fourth win in five outings in their 4 p.m. confrontation with the Perlas Spikers with a goal of grabbing the solo lead from the Creamline Cool Smashers and the BaliPure-National University Water Defenders.

Coming off a weeklong respite, the stalwarts of PayMaya coach Roger Gorayeb hope to keep their energy high and follow up their 25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 victory over Iriga-Navy last weekend.

While Tess Rountree is expected to headline the High Flyers’ offensive onslaught after averaging a 43percent success on her attacks, PayMaya boasts of its solid floor defense anchored on veteran Lizlee Ann Pantone.

Pantone, currently the top digger in the conference, is ready to face BanKo-Perlas’ power-hitting foreign duo and current leading scorers Jutarat Montripila and Lakia Bright.

Despite Montripila and Bright’s fiery performances, the Perlas Spikers still struggled in their all-around plays and dropped their last three matches for 1-4.

Meanwhile, PetroGazz (1-3) and Iriga-Navy (1-2) clash at 2 p.m. after coming off contrasting fortunes.
