VP delivers message of hope to the youth

- By RAYMUND F. ANTONIO ROBREDO

Vice President Leni Robredo reminded the youth over the weekend that there is always hope and stressed that good will always triumph over evil.

“The natural law is good always prevails in the end,” Robredo, a lawyer, said during the national summit of Millennials PH (MPH) held at the Quezon City Reception House, where she holds office.

“In the times of our lives, not only as a nation but in our personal lives, we feel that with all the bad luck we went through, or when our feelings were down, what we must carry with us are hope and faith,” she said in Filipino.

MPH, a sociopolitical youth movement dedicated to developing future leaders, is one of the lead organizers of Angat Buhay Youth, her flagship anti-poverty program.

The group is composed of around 2,000 youth leaders from 33 school and community-based chapters nationwide.

The Office of the Vice President recognized the vital role of the youth in nation building.

“We don’t have monopoly of good intentions, we don’t have monopoly of skills, all of us have the same love for our country, but our ways are different to show it. And the purpose of the organization is to look for the appropriate role of each one so that we may strongly push for our love to our country,” she said.

In her speech, Robredo urged the youth to always be “chill” to conserve their energy because they still have a long fight.
