Infracorp getting foreign partners
Infracorp Development, Inc., the infrastructure company of tycoon Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI), is talking to potential technology partners for its 2-kilometer Skytrain monorail project.
In an interview, Infracorp President Kevin L. Tan said, “we do have technical partners and we’d probably get a partner for the O&M (operations and maintenance).”
He added that, “there has been an offer from an Austrian company but we are also looking at Japanese technology.” The firm has been getting partnership proposals from potential suppliers seeking to secure a deal.
Tan said that, they expect to get all necessary government approvals by next month and. “during this time, we will start to already prepare. We’ve gotten bids (from suppliers).”
Infracorp has already received the Original Proponent Status for the project and the Department of Transportation has already endorsed it to the National Economic Development Authority.
“They have been constantly spoken to us about and they also have their own strategy to propose to extend it,” said Tan adding that they may extend it to Makati or other parts of Taguig.
He said they are also looking at other infrastructure projects, particularly those that will improve access to AGI’s real estate projects through the Megaworld group of property developers. (JAL)
