CATBALOGAN CITY – The 141 graduates of the Army’s Candidate Soldier Course Classes 552 & 553-2018 took their oath at the headquarters of the Army’s 8th Infantry Division.

Majority of the new batch of candidate soldiers hail from Samar and Leyte provinces.

One is a licensed professional, 51 are college graduates; 121 are college level, and 68 are high school graduates with skills training from the Technical Educational Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The next step for them is four months of basic military training. Those who pass the training will join the 8th ID.

In his message to the graduates, 8th ID commander, Maj. Gen. Raul Farnacio, reminded them not to fail their parents and the people who trust them by overcoming the challenges they will encounter during their rigorous training.

Enlistment clothing allowance were distributed after the program to the new recruits.
