The Best Tools For Home-Based Business

- (Karen Pacia, Digital Marketing Director and Public Speaker, email: karenpacia@weengage.co, www.instagram.com/karenpacia)

One way to take your homebased business to new heights is to implement an effective, profitable social marketing strategy. Aside from learning to craft a social media strategy to grow your business, you also need to learn how to use social media tools and platforms to design, manage, and optimize social campaigns. This will help promote your growth and position your brand in the digital marketplace, and you’ll develop targeted content to spark dialogue with various social communities. FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

AUTOMATION I've tried and tested hundreds of marketing technology tools and BUFFER & HOOTSUITE are my top favorites not just because you can create a FREE account (compared to others with high pricing models) but also because the features are great! Both Hootsuite and Buffer can auto-detect the correct time of day to schedule your posts (as well as the frequency) per social platform.

After you create your meaningful content, simply upload in these tools and it will be posted directly to your social platforms.

Hootsuite can also be used for Social Listening (the process of monitoring individual conversations about a brand and industry so you can spot customer pain points and provide direct consumer response to questions, complaints, and comments). You can create a stream to find all your brand mentions and hashtags in different platforms. FOR ANALYTICS Remember, marketing without data is like driving with your eyes closed. You have to understand the consumer behavior in order to create a marketing strategy that will generate tangible ROI for your business. Otherwise, you're only setting yourself up to waste time and money.

Hands down, my favorite analytics tool of all time is Google Analytics. This tool is really powerful - it helps me think what product to sell and how to sell them (as you know, product development is all about finding a problem that you can solve; and this tool helps me analyze the lifestyle and purchasing behavior of any website). You will need to study and get certified on this though as there’s so many meaningful insights you can get from this. FOR VISUAL CONTENT

CREATION With the rise of ad-blocking software, it’s becoming harder to reach customers through online advertising – 47% of people who shop online use ad blockers. What does this mean for your brand? It means that the best way to reach these customers is through content but it can't be just any content, it has to be visually-appealing and it needs to have value. If you have no clue on how to use Photoshop, don't worry. These tools are just drag-anddrop. It makes it easy for you to create materials for your campaigns instead of always hiring a graphic designer.
