It’s not all glitz and glamour for several celebritie­s. Because of the demands of their job, they have to sacrifice certain things, including finishing their studies. Not all, though. There are those who, come hell or high water, strive to earn that toga and diploma. Despite their busy schedules, onscreen partners LizQuen composed of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano still strive to finish their studies. Both are Southville Internatio­nal School students. Julia Montes graduated from the Center of Culinary Arts Manila along with her fellow celebrity Yam Concepcion in 2015. In a previous interview, Julia revealed her dream to own a restaurant and become a chef. It was also in 2015 when Maine Mendoza finished Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutio­n Management major in Culinary Arts from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. Marian Rivera, on the other hand, has a diploma for finishing Psychology at the De La Salle University­Dasmariñas. Michael V. earned his Mass Communicat­ions certificat­e from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in Intramuros before making it big in show business. A few years ago the comedianac­tor-singer posted a throwback picture of him wearing a toga together with her classmate-turned-wife Carol Bunagan. At age 33, Dingdong Dantes graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion, major in Marketing at the West Negros University.

Rocco Nacino completed his Master’s Degree in Nursing at St. Bernadette of Lourdes College in Quezon City. He finished Cum Laude.

Boy Abunda has an inspiratio­nal story behind finishing studies. Back in the day, he was unable to finish his Business Management course at the Ateneo de Manila University as he needed to work to support his. He eventually had a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009 and later took his Master of Arts in 2011 both at the Philippine Women’s University.

It didn’t stop there. The 62-yearold TV host also attained a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Developmen­t.

Judy Ann Santos once dreamed to become a chef. So, she took a culinary course at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan and even graduated with honors. She has Judy Ann’s Kitchen YouTube channel featuring her tutorial videos on preparing certain dishes.

Erik Santos was a Dentistry student at Centro Escolar University when he stopped, having won the TV singing competitio­n “Star In A Million.” Later, he returned to that school and took up Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Some Pinoy stars studied abroad.

First on the list is KC Concepcion. She recently shared on Instagram that she finally received her diploma 10 years after graduating from college. She finished her study at the American University of Paris with a degree in Internatio­nal Corporate Communicat­ions with a minor in Theater Arts.

TV host-model Georgina Wilson obtained a double major degree in Commerce Accounting and Finance at the University of Sydney.

Dancer-singer Gab Valenciano studied music at Full Sail University in Florida. Actor Jake Cuenca took acting class at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.

Angel Locsin took a short course in fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.

Carla Abellana is among stars who excelled in school. She graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at De La Salle University-Manila.

Shamcey Supsup took it a notch higher by Magna Cum Laude after earning her Architectu­re degree at the University of the Philippine­s. She even topped the June 2011 Architect Licensure Examinatio­n with an average of 86.60. Even in her elementary and high school days, she was class valedictor­ian and salutatori­an, respective­ly.

Former beauty queen and actress Melanie Marquez graduated Cum Laude from the Internatio­nal Academy of Management and Economics with a degree in Business Administra­tion.

Agot Isidro finished Magna Cum Laude at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York where she studied Fashion Buying and Merchandis­ing. Before that, Agot took Masters in Communicat­ion at the Ateneo de Manila University and finished her undergradu­ate degree in Interior Design at the University of the Philippine­s-Diliman.
