Palace bares new Duterte appointees

President Duterte has named nine new appointees this month, Malacañang announced yesterday.

On June 22, Duterte named Manuel Gonzales Department of Transporta­tion (DOTr) Assistant Secretary, replacing Arnulfo Fabillar, while Briones was named Director IV at the Office for Transporta­tion Security, replacing Maria Delia Presquito.

Also on June 22, Duterte named Benito Alipio Jr. as Assistant Schools Division Superinten­dent at the Department of Education (DepEd).

On Monday, Duterte appointed Department of Budget and Management­National Capital Region (DBM-NCR) assistant director Ruby Muro as new director at the agency, replacing Julian Pacificado­r Jr.

The President also named Joanne Babon as director at the Public-Private Partnershi­p Center of the Philippine­s of the National Economic and Developmen­t Authority (NEDA).

Duterte appointed Roberto Baquiran as director at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), replacing Flor Mercado.

He also appointed Robert Umandap to represent the Environmen­tal Sector Organizati­on at the board of trustees of the Philippine Institute of Traditiona­l and Alternativ­e Health Care. He will replace Angel Alcala. The President also named Rehan Lao as member at the board of directors at the Coconut Industry Investment Fund (CIIF) Oil Mills Group (San Pablo Manufactur­ing Corp., Southern Luzon Coconut Oil Mill, Inc., and Legaspi Oil Company, Inc.).

He will replace Wigberto Tañada and will serve until June 30, 2019.

Duterte likewise named Oscar Pialago Sr. as a member of the board of directors at the CIIF-Oil Mills Group (Granexport Manufactur­ing Corporatio­n, Cagayan de Oro Oil Company, Inc., and Iligan Coconut Industries, Inc.).
