8990 to develop MRBs, townhouses in QC

-

Leading mass housing developer 8990 Holdings, Inc. is looking at developing mid-rise buildings (MRBs) and townhouses in Quezon City (QC) while also pursuing the construction of high-rise halfway houses in Metro Manila.

In an interview after the ground-breaking ceremony for the R30-billion Urban Deca Homes Ortigas, 8990 President Willibaldo Uy said “in this big scale, we’re looking at Quezon City. Maybe mid-rise and townhouses. We have not decided yet.”

“We have large tracts of property in Quezon City Commonwealth, the Capitol Homes area. Going down Ever Gotesco Mall. Around seven stories, maybe townhouses. Because that’s a wide area,” he noted.

Uy said “we’re also looking at something similar to EDSA tower. What we did in EDSA in Mandaluyong, that has been very successful also.”

The high-rise EDSA Tower consists of 13 square meter units which serve as halfway houses for those working in Metro Manila but have houses in nearby provinces.

Urban Deca Homes Ortigas will be 8990’s largest urban home project in Metro Manila. It is aimed at young professionals and those starting families since most of the project will consist of 2-bedroom units priced at R1.6 million to R1.7 million.

The development is located within a 13-hectare property along Ortigas Avenue Extension and will roll out 22 buildings that will bring in a little over 19,000 homes upon completion. (JAL)
