Shabu seized in Pasig

Hours after the "drug courier and peddler" of the notorious Boratong Drug syndicate was apprehende­d, another alleged associate of the syndicate was nabbed Tuesday afternoon in Pasig City.

Early Tuesday morning, police seized 200 grams of shabu with a value of some R1.2 million from Haimen Rangaig, 24. He was nabbed during a buy-bust in Barangay Pinagbuhat­an,Pasig at around 2 a.m.

Boratong Drug syndicate, according to Pasig police, is founded by convicted drug lord Amin Iman Boratong. He was the operator of the "Shabu Tiangge(Shabu Flee Market)" in Pasig, police said.

At about 5:30 p.m., Antonio Intalan, also an alleged associate of the syndicate, was collared in a buy-bust operation on MRR St. in Barangay Pineda, Pasig.

Investigat­ion showed that Intalan transacted with undercover policemen. After handing six small sachets containing what is suspected to be shabu, in exchange for R1, 000 marked money, police apprehende­d him.

Further inspection by the police uncovered 27 medium-sized sachets containing shabu.

Police said that the shabu they seize has a street value of R1.2 million, weighing 190 grams.

Pasig police said Intalan was one of the top 10 high value targets of the Eastern Police District (EPD).

Furthermor­e, it was learned that the suspect was nabbed in 2013, 2014, and 2017, for drug charges.

His 2013 and 2014 drug cases were dismissed by local courts.

In 2017, he posted bail in exchange for his temporary liberty.

Meanwhile, Intalan declined to comment about the matter.

He is now held at the Pasig City police headquarte­rs' detention cell.
