After five years, K-pop boy band Super Junior were reunited with their Filipino fans at a concert here that evoked nostalgia. Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Siwon, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Heechul, Yesung and Shindong got together for the “Super Show 7” world tour in Manila held June 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Pinoy fans, especially long-time ones, were looking forward to the concert since it was way back 2013 when they last watched Super Junior in Manila at “Super Show 5.”

As before, Super Junior did not disappoint them as they showed top-notch performance coupled with the same charm and humor they’re known for through the years.

Super Junior opened the show with “Black Suit” and “Scene Stealer,” two tracks from their eighth studio album “Play” released last November, and the song “Mamacita” out four years ago.

“Your screams are so amazing,” Leeteuk greeted the audience. Shindong said,

“Ako ang inyong lodi (I’m your idol).” Donghae commented, “It’s been so long since we came here. Is it five years? Not only me but also other members wanted to come here to the Philippines. I’m so happy to be here finally.”

“Na-miss ko kayo (I missed you). It’s been a long time since five years that I’ve been here,” said Siwon, adding that “Pia’s here,” referring to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach who went to the concert. She later posted on Instagram a photo of them together taken backstage.

Heechul shouted “I love you, Philippines!” while Eunhyuk said, “Kamusta

kayong lahat?” Na-miss ko kayo. Na-miss niyo rin ako? (How are you? I missed you. Did you miss me?).” Leeteuk said it took them “five long years to see you all Filipino princesses.”

The rest of the repertoire was also a mix of new and old Super Junior songs including “Lo Siento,” “Runaway,” “Bonamana,” “Mr. Simple,” “It’s You,” “U,” “Shing Star,” “Devil,” and “Miracle.”

Some fans also got to see Super Junior up close as part of the stage was built in front of their seats.

Fans also prepared projects for Super Junior. A flash mob was also held outside the Mall of Asia Arena.

At the concert, fans sang happy birthday to Leeteuk, who turned 34 last July 1, and Heechul who will celebrate his 34th birthday on July 10. A birthday greeting was also displayed on Mall of Asia’s Globamaze.

Super Junior thanked fans for coming to the concert.

“I really wanna come here every year. We’ll come back with better songs,” Donghae said.

Yesung told fans “it’s been a while but I had a really great time. Please stay healthy.”

“Thank you so much for your love. I will promise you when we come back, it’s with all our members. I love you all,” Siwon said.

According to Eunhyuk, “Next time we’ll spend more time with you guys. Until then please wait for us.”

“Because of you guys, we were able to give the best performance ever,” said Leeteuk, who also announced Super Junior’s “Super Show 8” concert.

After the concert, Siwon tweeted, “Thank you so much Philippines. We will never forget about your love and passion for us. We hope we will always be together. Thanks again. See you soon. Love” while Donghae posted “Love you Philippines.”
