- By ANTHONY GIRON

CAMP GARCIA, Cavite — Police operatives have arrested two women and seized from them some R3.3 million worth of “shabu”(methamphetamine hydrochloride) using seven bundles of boodle or bogus R1,000 bills, in an operation in Barangay Datu Esmael, Dasmariñas City last Sunday.

It was the third biggest “shabu” buy-bust that was conducted by police in Cavite province in 12 days with the two transpiring also in Datu Esmael and at a hotel in Bacoor City.

Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite Police Provincial Office director, said that drug pushing and possession charges were filed Monday against Jamila Sultan Alonto, also known as “Gemma Jose,” and alleged cohort Lanie Jarique Garcia after their arrest in an operation Sunday at Block 49, Lot 11 Waling-Waling Street, Barangay Datu Esmael.

Operatives from PPO Intelligence Branch and Dasmariñas Drug Enforcement Unit have nabbed the two suspects for possessing a total 450 grams of “shabu” worth R3.3 million during the buy-bust operation at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The joint team held the suspects after a poseur was able to buy one small plastic sachet containing “shabu” weighing 150 grams. Also recovered from the suspects in the ensuing search were two sachets of “shabu” weighing 300 grams.

Segun said that unknown to the suspects, the poseur handed seven bundles of boodle money or replicas of R1,000 bills amounting to P500,000 in exchange for ‘shabu” during the buy-bust.

PPO reports showed that the provincial and local police have also used boodle money in some other drug buybust operations in the province.
