SAP Go to supporters: Help those affected by fires, monsoons instead

- By YAS D. OCAMPO

PANTUKAN, COMPOSTELA VALLEY — Special assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go advised supporters to instead help those in need instead of investing in billboards showing his face.

“Ibili na lang ng plywood para sa mga nasunugan or naapektuhan ng monsoon,”

Go told a crowd of hundreds of members of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

The Malacanang official added that supporters should instead provide for the needs of those affected by fires and monsoon rains.

The official said his team was giving assistance to residents of Barangay Bucana in Davao City whose houses were swept by monsoon waters.

Go denied anew that he was interested in being senator as he joined other politicians in the oath-taking event for new members of Hugpong ng Pagbabago at the municipal gym in Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province Thursday morning.

The event was attended by hundreds of HNP members in Comval.

Go said that those who put up the billboards in areas such the Northern Luzon Expressway were die-hard supporters. He had asked that the posters be taken down.

“Even during the time of Mayor (Rodrigo) Duterte, there were no names in the projects,” Go said, referring to his time as a long-time aide of the then-Mayor Duterte.

“Ang epal, kayo, noong panahon ninyo,” Go said of the critics of the administration.

Go said that the high approval ratings of the President was proof that people supported the efforts of the administration.

Meanwhile, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) chief and former Police Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa said it would be up to President Rodrigo Duterte if he would run as Governor in one of the provinces in the Davao Region or whether it would be for a higher post, such as senator.

At the same time, Mayor Sara Duterte insisted she would prefer staying in Davao City and help link other local government units to the city’s best practices.
