Retired cop linked to drugs shot dead

Aretired police offficial, who was reportedly included in President Duterte's drug watchlist, was killed in the latest ambush perpetrate­d by motorcycle-riding assailants near a church in Malate, Manila Sunday morning.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as retired Superinten­dent Roberto Palisoc.

He was last assigned at the National Capital Region Police Office-Tactical Operations Center.

Palisoc was onboard a pedicab when the assailants on a red motorcycle pulled over and shot him near San Antonio de Padua Parish along Angel Linao Street corner San Andres Street at 9:32 a.m.

He succumbed to gunshot wounds before reaching Ospital ng Maynila.

MPD spokesman Supt. Carlo Manuel disclosed that Palisoc was included in the government's drugs watchlist.

Palisoc was formerly assigned at the MPD Station 7 in Abad Santos in Tondo before he was reassigned to NCRPO in 2011.

On Thursday morning, Inspector George Delfin, 49, was also killed in an ambush while on his way home in Sta. Ana, Manila.

He was then assigned at the Metro Manila District Jail Main Building inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Witnesses said Delfin’s killers also used a red motyorcycl­e.

Both incidents are under further investigat­ion.
