- By CALVIN CORDOVA

CEBU CITY—Packs of shabu worth nearly P24 million were seized from a 27-year-old man in Barangay Bajumpandan, Negros Oriental.

The four packs were found in the sari-sari store of Janmark Abadilla during a raid by a team from the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Dumaguete City police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and maritime police.

Sr. Supt. Angelito Dumangeng, deputy director for operations of the Central Visayas police, said they will be checking if Abadilla is in the government’s list of targeted drug pushers.

Aside from the shabu that weighed two kilograms, cash worth P113,290 and a caliber .38 revolver were also found in the store.

A search warrant issued by Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio of the Regional Trial Court in Dumaguete was used in the raid.

Dumangeng said the raid was part of the 33 search warrants that were implemented in different areas in Central Visayas last Thursday.

In Bohol, two men were killed after they resisted arrest.

In Barangay Suba, Anda town, Joel Vergara was shot and killed after he allegedly drew a firearm when the police was about to search his house.

In Barangay Bicao, Carmen town, Eddie Vaño was fatally shot after he shot an arresting policeman.

The policeman was unharmed because he was a wearing a bulletproof vest, the report said.
