- By JONAS TERRADO

Game Today (Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig City) 5 p.m. – Che’Lu vs Go for Gold (Series tied 2-2) Series Summary: Game 1 – Che’Lu 100, Go for Gold 96 Game 2 – Go for Gold 105, Che’Lu 81 Game 3 – Go for Gold 98, Che’Lu 96 Game 4 – Che’Lu 88, Go for Gold 81

Che’Lu Bar and Grill and Go for Gold vow to give everything as they dispute the PBA D-League Foundation Cup crown today in the deciding fifth game of the Finals series at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Both squads could deliver a fitting climax to the championship that has witnessed comebacks, individual brilliance and cohesive team play in the 5 p.m. match that will see the winner join NLEX, Blackwater, CaféFrance, Phoenix and Cignal in the list of Foundation Cup champions.

Expected to be the more determined in the decider is Che’Lu, which hopes to write a different ending after losing a winner-take-all third game against Zark’s Burgers-Lyceum in the Aspirants’ Cup Finals.

Coach Stevenson Tiu feels the lessons learned from the previous title series can be a source of motivation for his players, particularly Viernes who was forced to sit on the sidelines in the Aspirants’ Cup Finals after a short PBA stint.

“Definitely the experience we had last conference, I believe, will help carry us through in Game 5,” said Tiu, who is eyeing his first D-League championship after failing to win one as coach of Jumbo Plastic several years earlier.

Go for Gold counterpart Charles Tiu, on the other hand, remains confident that his team can atone for the failed chance in Game 4 that saw Che’Lu pulling away in the fourth after a tight battle for three quarters.
