I'll take that shot again — Lee

JAKARTA, Indonesia – If given another chance to take the last shot with the game on the line, the Philippines’ Paul Lee said he'll take it again – and again, and again.

Lee said he has no regrets on taking an open three-point shot with time winding down. The prayer hit the back iron and allowed China to escape with a nail-biting 82-80 victory in the JakartaPalembang Asian Games last Tuesday at the GBK Basketball Hall here.

"If it happens again, I'll still take the shot," said Lee, who finished with 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, including 2-of-7 from the threepoint territory.

"I always practice that shot every day. Even if I missed it, coach Yeng (Guiao) said it was still a good shot," added Lee.

The national team rallied back from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter behind Lee, Stanley Pringle, JP Erram and Fil-Am player Jordan Clarkson of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It was a tied game at 80-all when Pringle's pass to Lee was intercepted by China. Zhao Rui gave China the lead, 8280, after he calmly sank two free throws off a Clarkson foul with 12.2 seconds left.

Lee got a screen from Erram to free himself from China's defense. His shot from the arc bounced off and and China got the rebound and the hard-earned win as time expired.

"They got an early lead, and then near the end Jordan had cramps. Maybe next time if we play them... we'll get them. But we have to win first against Korea," said Lee.
