Malacañang is telling Cebubased businessman and alleged drug lord Peter Lim to surrender to the authorities and prove his innocence in court.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque made the statement as the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) work to find the fugitive.

In his press briefing, Roque said that even if Lim decides to surrender or not, the authorities will still get to him and got to the bottom of his involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has assured that law enforcement authorities continue to exert efforts in finding fugitive suspected drug lord Peter Lim in time for his appearance before the court this Tuesday.

“The police, the NBI, and other law enforcement agencies are exerting all efforts to find Peter Go Lim and serve the warrant of arrest upon him,” the Secretary told reporters.

Guevarra made the assurance after Lim can no longer be found from his residences in Cebu and continues to elude arresting authorities.

Makati City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 65 Acting Presiding Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos issued the arrest warrant against Lim last August 14 and, then, a hold departure order (HDO) on August 18 which would prevent him from leaving the country.

The RTC has already set the arraignment of the Cebu-based businessman and his co-accused this Tuesday.
