F5 named a WAF Leader by independen­t research firm

F5 Networks announced that it has been named a Leader in the Forrester Wave: Web Applicatio­n Firewalls, Q2 2018 report, published June 25, 2018.

The Forrester Research report, authored by analyst Amy DeMartine,notes F5’s strong current offering, product strategy, and market presence, and awards F5 the highest scores for attack detection and attack response.

“Applicatio­ns are consistent­ly amongst the top attack targetsfor bad actors, and our goal is to provide comprehens­ive protection where it is needed most,” said Ram Krishnan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Security at F5.

“We believe the results of this report reflect the trust that F5 customers and vendors place in our WAF solutions to protect their applicatio­ns on-premises and across public and hybrid cloud deployment­s.”

WAFs have evolved into tools that can greatly reduce the risk of an applicatio­n breach. Today’s top-performing WAFs are continuall­y updated and offer a variety of detection and response techniques.

The report cites F5’s multiple consumptio­n models including the “Silverline-managed service and self-managed offering as well as the Advanced WAF appliance and its traditiona­l Applicatio­n Security Manager.”

It calls out F5’s support service in its profile, noting “customers praised the support they receive from the company.”
