QC cops arrest 12 drug suspects in 24-hour ops

The Alegre family of Sorsogon announced the passing of Dra. Martha “Neneng” Alegre-Mogol, 93, on August 21, 2018, due to cardio-respirator­y

For more than 40 years, Dr. Alegre-Mogol was a career official at the Department of Education, Culture and Sports welve alleged illegal drug personalit­ies were arrested by the police in its latest anticrimin­ality operations in Quezon City within 24 hours.

Operatives of Quezon City Police District-Kamuning Police Station (PS10) arrested Louie Enguerra, 25, during a buy-bust operation along Agham Road in Barangay Central at about 2 a.m., Friday.

Confiscate­d from him were three sachets of shabu, and the buy-bust money.

Same operatives also conducted a drug sting against known drug peddlers they identified as Christian Adaoag 18, and Ace Carlo, 20, on the corner of EDSA and drugstore in Barangay Kamuning around 10:30 p.m., Thursday.

Upon completing the deal, police officers immediatel­y collared the duo and seized six sachets of dried marijuana (DECS). She also served as vice chairman at the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC), president of the Girl Scouts of the Philippine­s, of the National Organizati­on of Profession­al leaves in their possession.

Meanwhile, personnel of Anonas Police Station (PS-9) arrested in a buybust the suspect identified as Jaffar Aboga, 18, along Commonweal­th Avenue near Philcoa, Thursday night where he yielded five sachets of dried marijuana leaves.

Anti-illegal drugs officers of Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) arrested four men they identified as Ronel Oliveros, 29; Sonny Abes, 22; Raymart Diaz, 22; and Serjio Madrinejo, 48.

The group was nabbed along Ilalim ng Tulay in Barangay Unang Sigaw late Thursday night after a concerned citizen reported to the police about their ongoing illegal drug activities in the area.

Upon checking the report, authoritie­s caught them in a shabu sniffing session and confiscate­d a sachet of white crystallin­e substance and some drug parapherna­lia in the scene which resulted in their arrest.

She was laid to rest Aug. 29, at the Sorsogon Sampaloc Cemetery, after a funeral mass held at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral. Junior Jerusalem was arrested by Batasan Police Station (PS-6) personnel along Sierra Madre Street around 6:45 p.m., initially for smoking in public place but when frisked, he yielded two sachets of shabu.

At around 5 p.m., Thursday, members of Masambong Police Station (PS-2) received a text message from a concerned citizen about an on-going illegal drug activity of a group along Alhambra Street in Barangay Damayan, San Francisco Del Monte.

Responding officers chanced upon suspects they identified as Randy Baliola, 30; Anthony Gabriel, 25; and Jeffrey Erja, 33; in the act sniffing shabu resulting in their arrest.

Three sachets of suspected shabu and an eight-inch knife were seized from the group.

Arrested drug suspects are now under police custody and were charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act.
