5 PNP officials take on new posts

Five high-ranking police officials were given new assignment­s by Director-General Oscar Albayalde, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, it was learned yesterday.

Senior Superinten­dent Benigno Durana Jr., PNP spokesman, announced that effective September 10 (Monday), Chief Supt. Gilberto D.C. Cruz has been appointed regional director (RD) of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13) in the Caraga region of Mindanao.

Cruz replaced Chief Supt. Noli Romana who is now the deputy director of the Directorat­e for Integrated Police Operations for Eastern Mindanao (DIPO-EM), Durana said.

The designatio­n papers were dated September 7 but were released to the media on Monday.

Meanwhile, effective September 11, Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis Licup will be the acting RD of the PRO9 in Western Mindanao, replacing its retiring head, Chief Supt. Billy Beltran.

The post vacated by Licup as the RD of the PRO4-B in Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) was given to Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario Jr.

Consequent­ly, Apolinario’s post as the district director (DD) of the Southern Police District (SPD) will be occupied by Sr. Supt. Eliseo DC. Cruz.

Durana said the reshuffle forms part of their “continuing commitment to ensure that we put the right people on the right job.”
