NPA’s Bagani Commander killed

BUTUAN CITY – An alleged commander of Pulang Bagani Command 3 (PBC 3) of the CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) was killed in a fierce gun battle Sunday with combat maneuverin­g troops of the 3rd Infantry Battalion (3rd IB) under the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division (10th ID).

Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, chief Public Affairs Office (PAO) of the 10th ID said the PBC commander was killed after 30 minutes of heavy gunfight.

Based on the initial report of 3rd IB commander Lt. Col. Oca Partuza, the gun battle took place after concerned villagers reported the presence of CNTs who are allegedly conducting extortion and recruitmen­t activities in the vicinity of Baracatan, Toril District, Davao City.

The gunfight started at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 16), Capt. Lamosao further claimed.

The slain PBC 13 commander, a certain “Ka Ivy” was reportedly a resident of IlangIlang area, San Mariano, Agusan del Sur.

During clearing and mopping up operations, operating troops seized in the encounter site one M16 Armalite Rifle, one AK47 rifle, 4 units of detonator switch, 5 magazines of AK47 rifle, 2 magazines of M16 Armalite rifle full loaded with live ammunition­s, 1 magazine of M16 also full loaded with live bullets, 1 stethoscop­e, 1 blood pressure monitor, 1 bandoleer, 1 box of assorted medicines, 6 bottles of Efficascen­t oil, 1 vial of valium, 1 vial of tramadol, 1 vial of anespin, 2 vials of anticholin­ergic, 2 wallets, 2 sedula, assorted ID’s, assorted notebooks, subversive documents and Palawan receipt, Capt. Lamosao said.

There was no casualty on the government side, he said.

Maj. Gen. Noel S. Clement, commanding general of the 10th “Agila” Division lauded the accomplish­ment of the 3rd IB.
