CAMP OLA, Legazpi City - A teacher was stabbed as she slept in the principal's office of Origon Elementary School, in Barangay Origon, Pioduran town, Albay, Tuesday night.

Chief Inspector Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, identified the teacher as Mylene Durante y Veras, a resident of Brgy Alnay, Polangui, Albay.

Also stabbed were two Grade 6 students who were sleeping with the teacher.

Calubaquib said a man entered the principal’s office and started stabling the victims.

Sr. Insp. Mayvell Gonzales, spokesperson of Albay Police Provincial Office later confirmed to Manila Bulletin that the suspect was a minor and a Grade 12 student.

Gonzales said the suspect was identified by the two students who survived the attack.

"Nakilala po ng dalawang babaeng estudyante na kasama ni Teacher Mylene na nakaligtas sa pananaga. Siya po ay grade 12 student. Nakilala siya kasi taga-roon lang sa vicinity ng Barangay Oringon," Gonzales said.

Gonzales added that the suspect is now in the custody of the Pioduran police.

Gonzales said Durante may have also been raped since her shorts was partly unbuttoned.

Durante has been living at the principal's office for the last two years instead of renting a house because the school is far from the town proper.
