Beauty Gonzalez has her share of online bashers and, really, she’d tell you, who gives a hoot?!

For Beauty Gonzalez, stooping to the levels of bashers is something she will never do.

“They cannot touch me, they have limits. I enjoy reading their messages. Yeah, they make an effort but it’s not true. If you get mad, then you’re guilty. Me? I am not guilty. If you’re affected by what other people say, that means it is true. If you’re not affected about it, then it’s not true,” she said.

The actress stays away from negative people, sure that “good things happen to good people.”

“Dwelling on negativity makes you look old,” she snorted.

During the interview, Beauty shed light on her supposed transfer to GMA-7, which already has naysayers having a field day.

“I’m just being a good neighbor. It’s good to be a nice neighbor, right, rather than everyone hating you,” was her analogy, adding, “There is a fiesta and there is lechon - I just tasted it.”

Outside work, Beauty said her habits seem older for her age.

“I sleep at 8 p.m. and I wake up at 5 a.m. I don’t go out. I just go to art openings,” she explained.

The routine only changes when she does a soap. Beauty is currently on “Kadenang Ginto.” Mulling her work ethic, she said she is “very professional,” the type who is “never late.” Beauty likes her role on the soap; that of an executive secretary who falls in love with her boss. Eventually, her character turns into a fighter. “I had to be a fighter on the soap. That is what I want to learn because in real life I am not a fighter. If there’s a fight, I’d be the first to run away. It’s better to be quiet than make mistakes,” she said. To prepare for her catfight scenes, Beauty practices at home. “Before the scene, we rehearse so that it would be a smooth taping for everyone. We have very good actors here and I don’t want to be the cause of delay. I really work hard at it.

“We talk about it. All our slapping scenes are real. I don’t want it faked. I want it to be true. Yeah, it’s painful but I want to portray the truth. I am not the one who can lie. If I lie, I think the audience will see it.”

The scenes that require her to cry prove to be challenging for her.

“That’s because I am happy in real life,” she explained. “It is difficult to shed tears if you’re happy with your own life.”

Also in the cast of “Kadenang Ginto” are Dimples Romana, Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Adrian Alandy, and Albert Martinez.
