- Except for having the same first word title as the show it replaces, Carmina Villaroel said her latest offering stands on its own.

Carmina Villaroel’s show “Sarap, ’Di Ba?” may have taken over the slot of Regine Velazquez’s “Sarap Diva” but that fact and the first part of the title is where comparisons end.

In an interview with Bulletin Entertainment, the 43-year-old host-actress said she is thankful Regine even retweeted the teaser of the new show.

Co-hosted with her twins Mavy and Cassy, Carmina said “Sarap, ’Di Ba?” sees their personalities and chemistry as family shine across segments far different from those of “Sarap Diva.”

How does she feel about the word ‘Sarap’ still there?

“I don’t feel offended by that. I just want to take things as a blessing, as an opportunity, which it is,” she said. “My heart is full and it’s all positive, all happy thoughts.” She hopes audiences will not compare her with Regine. “She’s the songbird and I’m just a frustrated singer,” she said, laughing. “I mean we are both different persons. But we both want to give fun entertainment to viewers.”

As a final note on the topic, Carmina added lightly: “Even if it’s not me, there will still be a person that would take the place sooner or later. In this industry, we all know there are things that end but also there are things that open a new chapter.”

Everything new

“Sarap, ’Di Ba?” is about family, friends, and fun.

“Also, the viewers would have the opportunity to get to know me better as a mom. And they will learn about my kids and the differences between them despite their being twins,” she maintained.

“Sarap, ’Di Ba?” aims to show how family members can strengthen their relationship with each other. Carmina, being the Gen X mom, will keep televiewers happily entertained as she tackles relatable and more dynamic topics about family, food, and fun activities for everyone. The twins, being the Gen Z teens, will join their mom in the weekend morning

chikahan about the latest trends in music, pop, culture, fashion, and technology.

But the fun bonding would not be complete without the delicious and healthy meals you can prepare for your picky children, your hungry husband, or to simply satisfy your own cravings. Carmina and twins will share new recipe ideas while also sharing tips on parenting with their celebrity guests.

Cassy revealed it was their long time wish to work with either or both of their parents. “Dreams come true,” she said. “Sarap, ’Di Ba?” airs its pilot episode today at 10:45 a.m. after “Maynila” on GMA.
