Hokkaido officials show support to PAL’s opening of new route on Dec. 7

As a show of support for PAL’s forthcomin­g new route, Hokkaido government officials led by Vice Governor Hitoshi Kubota paid a courtesy call on PAL President and COO Jaime J. Bautista at the PAL Corporate Headquarte­rs in Pasay City today.

Vice Governor Kubota stressed that “Tourist spots and destinatio­ns in Hokkaido are open for domestic and internatio­nal tourists. It is business as usual. The region has recovered from the September 6 earthquake.”

The Hokkaido government is in the midst of organizing tourism promotiona­l campaigns to drive travelers to this Japanese Region.

For his part, Mr. Bautista reiterated that PAL’s newest route – ManilaSapp­oro-Manila – aims to serve the growing demand for direct flights to one of Japan’s popular travel destinatio­ns, especially Filipino tourists.

He said, “Philippine Airlines’ upcoming new service between Manila and Sapporo – starting December 7, 2018 – will further boost the flag carrier’s presence in Japan.”

PR406 leaves Manila every Monday/ Wednesday/Friday at 1:55 a.m. and arrives in Sapporo at 8:30 a.m.. PR405 departs Sapporo on the same days at 9:45 a.m. and touches down in Manila at 2:15 p.m.

PAL is all set for the 5 hour 30 minute maiden journey which will utilize the brand new 168-seater Airbus singleaisl­e A321 NEO aircraft, with 12 full-flat business class seats and 156 economy seats with wider legroom and inseat TV monitors on all seats, Wi-Fi connection, reduced noise levels and myPAL e-Suite to access over 300 hours of inflight entertainm­ent selections.
