In about two hours, two men were injured after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Caloocan City on Monday evening.

Police identified the victims as Adrian Paul Riel, 25, jobless, resident of Barangay 17B, Bagong Silang; and Teolo Dela Fuente, 20, motorcycle mechanic, resident of Barangay 165, Bagbaguin.

Investigation showed that Riel was walking home with his friends along Phase 6, Barangay 180 after attending a wake at about 10 p.m.

They passed by a group of men who threw rocks at them, which led them to run away.

While running, they heard gunshots and saw that Riel was hit on his left arm.

He was rushed by his friends to Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and is now confined at Tala Hospital.

Later, at about 11:20 p.m., Dela Fuente was entering his compound onboard his motorcycle when he heard gunshots and saw that he was hit by a bullet on his left foot.

A witness, who police identified as Carlo Simon Yap, said the gunman shot the victim while onboard a black Mitsubishi Montero.

After the gunman fled, Yap brought Dela Fuente to Valenzuela General Hospital, where he is confined.

Further investigation and followup operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the assailants.
