26 Japanese firms seeking PH partners

Twenty six Japanese businessme­n representi­ng small and medium-scale business enterprise­s in various industries hope to find Filipino partners during the business matching program of the Philippine­s Japan Economic Cooperatio­n Committee (PHILJEC) and OISCA, a Japanese NGO for internatio­nal cooperatio­n.

Aniceto S. Saludo, Jr., PHILJEC chairman said the two-day event slated on December 6-7 at the New World Hotel in Makati revolves on the theme ”Economic prosperity and growth through business matching” and is highlighte­d by one-on-one meetings of Japanese businessme­n with potential Filipino partners.

Saludo said there are 7 areas of cooperatio­n open to Filipino entreprene­urs: Partnershi­p, joint venture, dealer, distributo­r, financing, marketing and promotion, consultanc­y/ research and technology transfer.

Yasuaki Nagaishi, OISCAInter­national secretary general said are eleven industrybu­siness categories in the business matching forum: Informatio­n technology, education, manufactur­ing, food, agricultur­e, human resource, trading, energy, services, constructi­on and real estate.

Japan Minister of Economic Affairs Minister Masako Iyori and LandBank of the Philippine­s President Alex Buenaventu­ra will deliver special messages. The keynote address of Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez will be deliveredb­yTradeUnde­rsecretary Ceferino Rodolfo.

The business matching sessions begin after lunch with businessme­n of the two countries holding one-on-one talks to explore business opportunit­ies and establish mutually beneficial partnershi­ps.

OISCA, a Japanese NGO establishe­d in 1961 with its headquarte­rs in Tokyo, has been carrying out various projects and activities in t: environmen­t conservati­on, capacity building, agricultur­al developmen­t and Children’s Forest Program in 36 different countries and areas mostly in the Asian Pacific Region.
