Follow the law, Bong Go tells supporters

-

Former Special Assistant to the President and senatorial aspirant Christopher “Bong” Go has called on his supporters and the general public to abide by the law, par-

ticularly local ordinances.

He issued the call in the wake of reports that a tarpaulin bearing a “Maligayang Pasko!” greeting and his face was posted in public in Silay City without permission from the local government.

Go said he has no prior knowledge of who was responsible for the tarpaulin posting. Still, he expressed his gratitude for the support extended to him and President Duterte.

“Hindi ko po alam (kung) sino talaga ang nagkabit [I don’t know who posted it]. Sa mga supporters ko at ni PRRD [To President Duterte and my supporters], I am truly grateful for your initiative and support,” Go said.

“Ang pakiusap ko lang, sundin natin ang mga ordinansya ng ating local leaders. Kami ni PRRD, mula noon hanggang ngayon, sinisigurado namin na kami at mga kasamahan namin ay palaging sumusunod sa batas (My only appeal is for everyone to follow local ordinances. President Duterte and I have always made sure that we and our supporters abide by the law),” he added.

He also reminded their colleagues and supporters to do the same.

Go stated that there should be no exceptions in implementing the law.

“As a word of advice to our supporters, ilagay na lang nila sa mga bahay o private properties bilang parte ito ng karapatan nilang ipahayag ang sarili nila (they should post materials expressing support in their houses or private properties).

Mas mabuti pa, huwag ninyo ako unahin – ipang tulong nalang ninyo sa kapwa o ipambili nalang ng plywood para sa mga nasunugan yung gagastusin ninyo para diyan (Don’t make me your priority. Instead, extend support to those in need like the victims of fire),” Go added.

“I would also like to thank Mayor Mark Golez of Silay City for being fair in implementing the law and for being supportive of me and the President.

“Nabalitaan ko na siya rin mismo ang nagpakabit ng tarp sa private property niya to express his support (I learned that he posted a tarpaulin in his private property to express his support to me).”

“Maraming salamat po (Thank you very much),” Go said in his statement.
